Maple Grove helps students Slide Into School

Maple Grove United Methodist Church members helped usher in the final week before school starts with a special event Sunday, Aug. 18.

Following a “blessing of the backpacks” during both Sunday morning services, the church opened its parking lot up to the community for a Slide into School event. The facility, on the southwest corner of North High Street and Henderson Road, hosted food trucks, games, an inflatable slide and more.

Visitors were encouraged to donate back-to-school supplies for local schools, resulting in dozens of storage tubs filled with backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons and more. Most of the items were going to be donated directly to Clintonville’s own elementary schools, including Indian Springs, Colerain, Clinton and others.

For more information on how to contribute, call the church at 262-1163.
