Businesses announce events for Dec. 8 HolidayVille

UPDATED  One of the primary aspects of HolidayVille is to promote local businesses in Clintonville, and encourage residents to learn more about the shopping options they have right here in the community.

To entice shoppers to visit, many businesses have signed on as official participants in Experience Clintonville’s event and they are planning holiday activities and promotions in conjunction with HolidayVille.

For example, Moody Street Trains at 3588 Indianola Ave. will be hosting a holiday train display sure to delight visitors of all ages.  Sobo Style at 3282 N. High St. is collecting canned food donations for the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center and also is donating a portion of its proceeds to the CRC.

Many of the other activities, off a list that continues to evolve, include:

Weiland’s Market, 3600 Indianola Ave.  —

Official trolley sponsor and trolley stop. The best place in town to find ingredients and prepared foods for your holiday table! On Sunday, meet Clintonville author Trudy Brandenburg who will be signing her Emma Haines Kayak Mystery series.

Alison Rose, 3039 Indianola Ave. —  

Hors d’oeuvres and warm beverages catered by Cookie Cravings Bakery, great deals in the shop on items like the “Welcome to Clintonville” poster!

Wholly Craft, 3169 N. High St. —

20% off handmade ornaments and free make-and-take ornament and holiday decor projects for kids and adults!

Mozart’s, 4784 N. High St. —

The Official HolidayVille Hub with Kids Craft Activities,  Free Cookies, Cookie Decorating, and Hot Chocolate for Kids (plus delicious Gluehwein for Adults!). Santa will greeting kids from noon to 1pm and Clintonville children’s author, James Freshour will be signing copies of his Christmas themed children’s book “Coulda, Woulda, Did!: Ideas about the The Christmas Star” from 2-4pm.

Colonial Candy Shoppe, 3519 N. High St. –

30 year anniversary weekend! Open 11-5 with refreshments, cake, chocolate and candy tastings, business retrospective, 1983 trivia. Grand prize drawing: chocolate gift basket with BalletMet Nutcracker tickets.

Studio 35, 3055 Indianola Ave. –

The 3:00 will be $15 and it will be combining a new wrought iron clock with found vintage items, and you may also take it with you!
